GENERAL INFORMATION

Current transformers are manufactured with class voltage up to 36 KV, class of precision up to 0,2 ANSI and an operation altitude up to 4500 m.a.s.l.

Current transformers are immersed in refrigerated liquid and they have instrument and component standards such as AT and BT porcelain insulators and a rucksack to attaching to the pole.

We also offer current transformers or current transformers encapsulated in epoxy resin toroidal type, free from potential discharges and suitable for heavy work.

FUNCTIONS

There are two type of current transformers according to their function:

– Protection Current Transformers. They are used to detect currents and allow the operation of the protection elements.

– Measure Current Transformers. They are used to measure the currents with a minimal error according to the norm. They also protect the connected equipment in the secondary, being overloaded in case that the measures of current raise.

Both are designed according to customer needs, so they are suitable to measure low and medium voltage in single or three phase distribution systems up to 25 [kV].

CHARACTERISTICS

Current transformers are designed, manufactured and tested according to International Norms. They allow the operation without interruptions in any part of electric systems. They are robust and invariable.

The Measure Current Transformers contain a minimum error of angle and magnitude, so they commit to offer exactitude even when the measure variables vary from a 10% to a 110% on its nominal valour.

Current Transformers are able to withstand high short circuits that can happen. They protect the associated tool and possible exceeding transitory voltages that may appear.

Current Transformers Class 15 [kV] and above are installed in a metallic tank that adds a backpack hanging on a pole, and are immersed in mineral oil.

On the lid of the tank, there are insulators M.V. and secondary terminals in a sealed box so that secondary connectors cannot be interfere while the system is energized.
